Mexico and the US are closing in on a deal to combat drug trafficking and violence, a pact that could quell some of President Donald Trump s chief concerns with his southern neighbor and lead to a wider agreement covering trade.

Terms of the deal are still being hammered out, but Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said they include sharing more intelligence information, reducing the flow of fentanyl precursor chemicals into her country and cracking down on the flow of guns from the US.
